Learn to skipper with practical and theory training with an instructor on hand to give tuition, advice and ensure your personal safety. The RYA Day Skipper qualification confirms that the successful candidate has the knowledge needed to skipper a yacht on shorter, coastal cruises during daylight.

This package of courses takes you from no previous experience right through to the the RYA Day Skipper qualification. You also have the unique opportunity to complete some of the practical courses in Barcelona as well as our Brighton centre giving you perfect mix of English Channel and Mediterranean Sailing.

Course Structure

All courses include accommodation onboard (except weekend course Part 1 unless requested).

Breakfast and Lunches provided during Part 2 or Weekday courses.

You will be involved in the planning of each day as this varies depending on the weather and tidal conditions and it is an important skill to learn.

Enjoy sailing to different locations, courses can go to France, The Solent, Eastbourne or choose Barcelona in the Mediterranean.

Evenings are normally spent in Marinas with occasional nights at anchor when appropriate conditions allow.

Part of the course is to plan and execute a trip to another location and we have some excellent locations to practice these important skills.

The courses are mainly practical and very hands-on, learning to sail in an enjoyable and relaxed environment.
