RYA Youth Stage 4

The RYA Youth Sailing Stage 4 course advances the sailors from basic skills. This exciting course is run on the sea from our centre at Brighton Marina and is suitable for Youths aged 10 to 16   They should of  already completed the stage 3

By the end of the course they will be able to sail competently without an instructor onboard in fair conditions

  • More advanced sailing skills
  • Crewing and Helming
  • Boat handling under sail and Power
  • Start sailing without the instructor onboard and teaching from the safety boat, learning more independence onboard

Course content includes:

  • Rigging, Motoring and parking
  • Sailing techniques and manoeuvres in crewed boats
  • Recovering a man overboard
  • Dealing with different situation afloat
